McLaren MP4-20 - rear wing and bodywork 08 October 2005

Arguably the most aerodynamically efficient car of 2005, the MP4-20 has sported even narrower rear bodywork in recent races, closely sculpted around the engine and gearbox within, with the only opening being the wide one behind the exhausts to improve hot air extraction. This ensures minimal disruption to the airflow meeting the rear wing, which for Suzuka has reverted to the previously-seen endplate design, featuring horizontal slits. These slits help reduce turbulence on the medium-high downforce circuit.
