McLaren MP4-29 - front wing endplate 29 March 2014
For 2014 the front wing has been narrowed by 75mm on each side, and this means that the way airflow is diverted around the front tyres needs to be managed differently to 2013. McLaren's first development in this department was seen at the second Bahrain test in Sakhir when they introduced a turning vane fitted to the outside of the front wing endplate (red arrow). This vane helps pull some airflow through the hole in the front wing endplate, improving the performance of the endplate in turning air around the outside of the front tyre.
