Lotus E20 - revised nose 29 July 2012

Lotus introduced a new bulging nose cone (see red arrow) and wider nose pillars (see yellow dotted line) in Budapest this weekend to increase downforce and improve the car's handling around this medium-slow circuit. Like he did in Germany last weekend, driver Kimi Raikkonen also tested the team's prototype 'double DRS' system on Friday. The solution now includes two additional inlets, which have been incorporated into the bodywork on either side of the airbox. It should prove very useful at the next two rounds in Belgium and Italy, which take place at the very quick Spa-Francorchamps and Monza tracks.
