Lotus E21 - long-wheelbase car 07 September 2013

On Friday, Lotus trialled a long-wheelbase version of the E21 (left side of drawing) that their simulator had suggested may give an improvement of around two-tenths of a second per lap at Monza. The longer wheelbase was achieved through revised suspension. But having tested the car in free practice, Lotus found it didn't bring any significant advantage, so for qualifying and the race they reverted to the standard-wheelbase version (right side).
