Introduced in 2016, the Driver of the Day award is voted for by fans during each Grand Prix and announced at the end of the race.

A charging drive at Monza saw Ricciardo come from 16th on the grid to finish fourth, with the Australian almost catching the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel in the closing laps.

Sebastian Vettel dogged him all the way, but there was to be no denying Lewis Hamilton in what was his 200th Grand Prix as he took his third win at Spa-Francorchamps.

He trailed team mate Sebastian Vettel all the way in Budapest to take a superb second place and with it secure a record eighth podium finish at the Hungaroring.
