Formula 1® Drivers

Reigning champions Mercedes retain the same driver line-up for 2016, as do most other top teams, but there are big changes elsewhere. Romain Grosjean moves to the all-new Haas squad - the first American-led team to join the grid in three decades - and is partnered by F1 returnee Esteban Gutierrez. At Renault, Great Britain’s Jolyon Palmer steps up from reserve to partner former McLaren racer Kevin Magnussen, while at Manor, three new names make their debut - Indonesia's first F1 driver, Rio Haryanto, Mercedes protege Pascal Wehrlein, and 2015 GP3 champion Esteban Ocon, who replaces Haryanto from round 13 onwards. In another mid-season move (round five on) Max Verstappen steps from Toro Rosso to sister team Red Bull, swapping seats with Daniil Kvyat. And 2015 GP2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne makes his F1 race bow with a one-off outing for McLaren, standing in for the injured Fernando Alonso in Bahrain.
