SingTel to sponsor first Singapore Grand Prix 16 Nov 2007
Singapore Telecommunications Limited have been named as title sponsors for next years inaugural race in Singapore. The event will be officially known as the 2008 FORMULA 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.

The Singapore event, scheduled for September 28, will take place on public roads around the Marina Bay area. It will be first Formula One street race in Asia and will be one of three Grands Prix on the 2008 calendar to run in an anticlockwise direction.
Welcoming the SingTel announcement, Formula One Management CEO Bernie Ecclestone said: SingTel is a powerful player in the world of telecommunications and we are delighted to welcome them as the Title Sponsor of the first ever Formula One race in Singapore. Title sponsorship of the 2008 FORMULA 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix will give SingTel the platform to achieve global recognition of their brand.
