Red Bull Racing have announced they have extended their contract with David Coulthard to the end of the 2008 Formula One season.

It means the team’s driver line-up remains unchanged for next year, with Coulthard again partnering Mark Webber.

The news also means that Coulthard, 36, will start his 15th season in the sport. The Scot’s Formula One career began back in 1994 with Williams, when he made his race debut in unfortunate circumstances following the death of Ayrton Senna.

He moved to McLaren for the 1996 season and went on to form an enduring partnership with Mika Hakkinen, before finishing second in the 2001 drivers’ championship. He switched to Red Bull for 2005.
