BMW Sauber F1.09 - revised sidepods 22 August 2009
In Valencia, BMW Sauber have introduced a third version of their 2009 car (the second arrived in Barcelona), with a lighter chassis and sidepods that are much narrower at the bottom, as you can see from this drawing. These sidepods house a completely different radiator installation. The engine cover, complete with big, Red Bull-style fin, is also new and there is a modified rear diffuser. This car will no longer use KERS, giving the team more ballast to play with in combination with the improved aerodynamic package.
