Joins Renault as official test driver, completing over 8,000 test kilometres over the year. Announced as a race driver for the French team for 2008.

Impresses in his second season of GP2, winning four races and finishing runner-up to champion Lewis Hamilton. Tests on two occasions for Renault.

Combines a drive in the new GP2 series with a seat in A1GP for the Brazilian team. Wins in both series and keeps his Formula One dreams alive with another test, this time for BAR.

Becomes the youngest-ever winner of the series after his second British Formula Three season. Tests for Williams for a second time.

2003

Moves to the United Kingdom to drive in the British Formula Three championship. Finishes third in the standings after taking six victories. Makes his Formula One test debut for Williams during the winter.

Wins the South American Formula Three championship on his second attempt, after scoring 16 pole positions and 13 wins.
