Ferrari F2012 - updated sidepod aero package 21 July 2012
In China back in April Ferrari introduced a revised sidepod aero package, which featured vortex generators in the lower section of the F2012's barge boards (red arrow, inset). At this weekend's German race, the Italian team have better integrated them with three vertical fins (red arrow, main drawing) to improve the flow of air to the back of the car. Other modifications to the F2012 at Hockenheim include changes to the stepped area in front of the rear tyres and to the diffuser's side channels. Ferrari also brought new versions of their front and rear wings to Germany, but opted to use the older front wing for qualifying and the race.
