BMW Sauber F1.09 - front aero package 03 February 2009
BMW Sauber launched the F1.09 with almost exactly the same front-aero package that they ran on their interim car at the end of last year. The front wing features quite a simple main profile with two flaps (the second is adjustable), large middle endplates and large box-like outer endplates, the latter clearly designed to divert the airflow away from the front wheels. The nosecone is much wider than last year's and has two V-shaped pillars connecting the front wing. The new design has also kept the two turning vanes affixed to the underside of the nosecone behind the front wing.
