F2: Dunne takes maiden pole in Monte Carlo by 0.003s

Alexander Dunne claimed his first pole position in Formula 2 by the slenderest of margins over Victor Martins. The Rodin Motorsport talent secured the coveted top spot on his final lap, setting a 1m 24.142s lap to deny the ART Grand Prix driver P1 by three-thousandths of a second.

As usual, Formula 2 Qualifying was split into two groups in Monaco, with a ballot determining the order in which both groups went out in. Group A featured the even-numbered cars and Group B the odd.

F3: Tsolov comes out on top to take maiden pole position in Monte Carlo

Martins led Group A throughout the 16-minute segment, going quickest right away and finding several improvements before the chequered flag. His final 1m 21.145s was the target to beat for Group B.

Dunne was the pacesetter early on in the second group, going to the top of the times but still behind Martins’ effort.

The McLaren Driver Development talent continued to find time, cutting down the deficit as the session ticked down and getting closer to Martins’ provisional pole benchmark.

With the chequered flag waving, the Irishman completed one final lap to secure P1 and snatch pole away from the Williams Racing Development Driver.

With the two groups aggregated together, Dunne is set to start from pole ahead of Martins on the front row, while F2 rookie and reigning Formula 3 Champion Leonardo Fornaroli continued his streak of top 10 starts in P3.
