Welcome to the first official practice day of the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

Yesterday the temperatures were high, as expected, but already today is hotter still with the ambient temperature expected to reach the middle 30s Celsius. The cloud tends to mask the heat, but it will play a key role throughout the day.

The forecast is the same for the entire weekend, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures comfortably in the 30s. There is a 20 percent chance of rain each day, but locals say this is unlikely to materialise.

Once again we are in for a hot and tough race on Sunday, when the wind could be an influencing factor if it blows sand on to the track.
