Welcome back to the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, the ninth round of the 2004 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Yesterday was a reminder of the changeable nature of the weather at this mid-point of the season race. The ambient temperature duly reached the forecast 27 degrees Celsius, but later in the day the heavy air led to some serious rain.

The skies are sunny again this morning here in Indianapolis, but though the official forecast say it should be dry and that chances of rain are minimal, locals suggest otherwise as the temperature sidles up to 28 degrees.

Saturday is still expected to be changeable again with rain in the afternoon around (but possibly just later than) qualifying time. Raceday should still be dry all through, with sun and a high of 27 degrees.
