BAR plan Bonneville record attempt 02 Sep 2005
BAR will travel to the USA’s Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah next month, aiming to set an official Formula One land speed record.
Using a slightly modified, but still track legal, version of this year’s 007 machine, Alan van der Merwe, a member of BAR’s Young Driver Programme, will attempt to break the 400 km/h mark.
The record attempt will take place between October 4 and 11. The team are already proudly displaying ‘Bonneville 400’ logos on their cars at Monza.
