Takuma Sato was the quickest man around Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday as BAR continued their solo session at the Spanish track.
Sato ran a total of 124 laps on his way to a best of 1m 15.010s, his programme including suspension and brake work, as well as tyre evaluations for his home Grand Prix at Suzuka next month.
Joining him was team mate Jenson Button, who finished the day just a tenth of a second behind on a 1m 15.110s after completing an identical number of laps. Buttons focus was more work on aero developments for the teams 007 car.
BARs young driver programme member James Rossiter was again on track in the teams 2006 development car. He ran close to 60 laps and finished just a second behind Sato and Button on a 1m 16.190s.
Elsewhere in Spain on Wednesday, Ferrari continued their Jerez session with Marc Gene once more at the wheel of the F2005. The Spaniard ran 99 laps of Bridgestone tyre work for the remaining three races, his best a 1m 18.861s.
Both BAR and Ferrari continue testing on Thursday.
