Honda wow the crowds at Tokyo festival 07 Oct 2008
Over the weekend, Honda enjoyed a starring role at the Tokyo Motorsports Festival in Odaiba as part of the teams week-long build-up to the Japanese Grand Prix. On Saturday Honda young driver, Luca Filippi, carried out several demonstration runs, before Jenson Button took over the RA108 to thrill the 72,000 fans in attendance on Sunday.
It will be a busy week for me, explained Button. The annual Tokyo Motorsports Festival in Odaiba is a great event that really allows our fans to get close to the action. From here, we will attend the Honda press conference on Tuesday before heading to Fuji on Thursday to prepare for the race weekend.
The assembled crowd were also entertained with a variety of other attractions, including talks from drivers and engineers, and car displays. Among the historic Hondas on show were a Honda RA272, with which Richie Ginther scored Hondas first Grand Prix win in 1965 and a Honda-engined 1989 McLaren MP4/5.
