Red Bull’s David Coulthard will sample a new type of motorsport this Sunday when he stops off at a NASCAR race in the US, on his way to next weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix. Coulthard will visit Dover in Delaware to see the Austrian drink company’s NASCAR team race on a track known as the ‘Monster Mile’.

“I’m interested in all sorts of racing, but hardly ever get a chance to see anything other than Formula One,” explained the Scot. “So when Red Bull came up with the idea of shooting a promo film around their NASCAR operation on the week before the Canadian GP, it seemed like a great opportunity to go and see why this form of racing is so popular in the States.”

The NASCAR Red Bull Racing Team is now in its second year of competition, racing Toyota Camrys, driven by Brian Vickers and AJ Allmendinger. Before the race Coulthard will get the chance to sit in the race car, as well as attending the squad’s pre-race engineering briefings.
