Force India’s preparations for the new season have stepped up a gear with the release of the team’s 2009 calendar, which was unveiled at an exclusive brunch on Sunday. Bollywood star Arjun Rampal and team principal Dr Vijay Mallya were both in attendance at the event, which took place in the Indian capital, New Delhi.

The calendar features stunning pictures of models Shruti Agarwal, Monikangana Datta and Sheetal Menon, as well as the previously untapped modelling talents of the team’s 2009 drivers, Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella. The team's car also takes pride of place in the artwork, which was shot by famous Indian photographer Atul Kasbekar.

“I was quite excited at doing something as different as this, because I believe it is a very cool idea conceptually for a photographic image, and it worked out really well,” explained Kasbekar. “I was extremely kicked about the concept of the drivers sporting the logo of the Force India Formula One Team as a tattoo and they were very charged about the whole idea as well. What was more a matter of pride was that I was shooting the calendar for the only Indian F1 team which gave me an immense sense of satisfaction in more ways than one!”

Mallya was equally excited about the project: “The Force India Formula One Team has ensured that India is well represented at the pinnacle of motorsport in the world. Widely billed as the most improved team on the grid during the 2008 racing season, Force India Formula One is now set to cross new milestones and give some serious competition to the other cars on the grid this year.

“The inaugural edition of the Force India Formula One Calendar 2009 captures the thrill and excitement that is integral to the sport and life around the circuit.”
