Makes his F1 race debut with backmarkers Manor, scoring their only point of the season in Austria, and goes on to sign with Sauber for 2017.

At 19 years of age, becomes youngest-ever DTM race winner en route to eighth in the series with Mercedes - who also give him his first Formula One test and a reserve role with their F1 team.


Starts year with a further FIA F3 Euro race win, before moving into Germany’s DTM touring car championship with Mercedes. In the process becomes the youngest driver to compete in the series.


Steps up to Formula Three, claiming second overall - and rookie of the year honours - in the F3 Euro series, with one win and six podiums.


ADAC Formula Masters champion, with eight wins, 13 podiums and seven pole positions.


Begins single-seater career, aged 16, in Germany’s ADAC Formula Masters Series. Finishes sixth overall, with one win, four podiums and one pole position.
