It was the Mercedes cars of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas who came out of the blocks quickest at the Hungaroring, as the pair of black-liveried W11s set the pace in FP1, ahead of the Racing Point of Sergio Perez.
Lance Stroll followed up behind his team mate in P4, ahead of the Renault of Daniel Ricciardo and the Ferrari pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc behind – with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, last year’s polesitter here, only managing P8, 1.432s off the pace.
