Max Verstappen was in fine form on the first evening of running in Abu Dhabi, as he led the way in Friday's second practice session ahead of George Russell.
On his second run on the soft tyre, Verstappen posted a time of 1m 25.146s to lead Russell by 0.341s, with Charles Leclerc rounding out the top three – finishing 0.453s off Verstappen's time.
FP1 leader Lewis Hamilton was fourth quickest, ahead of Sergio Perez in fifth and Carlos Sainz in sixth. It was a positive session for Alpine, with Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso seventh and eighth respectively, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in ninth and Valtteri Bottas in 10th.

There were no red flags in the session, but we continued to see several drivers lock up into corners and run wide, with Sebastian Vettel briefly bringing out the yellow flags after going off track at Turn 6.
