It was a tight affair in the first practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with Sergio Perez leading the way ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
Perez set a time of 1m 11.853s to lead Leclerc, in second, by 0.004s and his team mate Verstappen in third, by 0.008s. Carlos Sainz was fourth quickest, a thousandth of a second ahead of Lewis Hamilton in fifth, with George Russell in sixth.
Sebastian Vettel was seventh quickest, ahead of the Haas of Mick Schumacher in eighth, Valtteri Bottas in ninth, with the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly rounding out the top 10.
There were no red flags in the session, although we did see a few drivers run wide and lock up on track as they got to grips with the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace circuit.
