MUST-SEE: Red Bull's Perez loses engine cover in spectacular fashion while passing Latifi
Sergio Perez suffered a surprise on his first day of testing for Red Bull in Bahrain, with the Mexican’s car unexpectedly losing its engine cover – with spectacular results.
Perez was coming out of the slipstream of Nicholas Latifi’s Williams on the main straight when the change in air pressure seemed to encourage the bodywork to suddenly separate from the car.
As marshals cleared carbon fibre from the track, Perez limped back to the pit lane where his team desperately tried to stop prying eyes from getting too good a view of the RB16B’s internals.
