Renault expect Ricciardo's car to be ready for qualifying after FP3 stoppage
He’s been on sparkling form recently, but just as in Belgium, Daniel Ricciardo was given a fright in final practice in Italy when his Renault hit trouble. Thankfully for the Australian, his team say a fuel pump failure was likely to blame, and given it’s a relatively easy fix, he should take part in the fight for pole as planned on Saturday afternoon…
Ricciardo was forced to park up in FP3 in Belgium a week ago when the team spotted a hydraulics issue. With around eight minutes of the same hour-long session remaining in Monza, the seven-time GP winner was again left to jump out of his yellow car prematurely, as you can see in the video above.

In Spa, Renault were able to perform a quick fix and get him out into qualifying – something they’re confident of doing again. There, Ricciardo bagged fourth on the grid, before finishing in the same position in the race, to equal his season-best result.
