Formula 2 rookie Felipe Drugovich’s sublime start to life in the top-tier of junior motorsport continued in Great Britain, as he took his, and MP Motorsport’s, first-ever pole position in the Championship. While in Formula 3, Logan Sargeant beat Red Bull junior Liam Lawson to pole by just four-hundredths of a second.
In the four rounds of the season so far, Drugovich has transformed himself from an unlikely underdog to a Championship contender. The Brazilian took just eight points in the whole 2019 F3 season, but already has 34 this year in F2, and now has the chance to add a second win to his collection from pole in the Feature Race tomorrow.

Ferrari junior Callum Ilott missed out on his second pole of the season by just 0.139s and will start the Feature Race of his home event from second, ahead of Mick Schumacher, at 1545 (local time) on Saturday.

F3 will also have a new name starting from the front. PREMA racer Sargeant’s first three qualifying sessions of the season have read P4, P3 and P2, so it was only fitting that the American racer took P1 in round 4 at Silverstone.
Lawson had originally looked set for a maiden pole of his own, before Sargeant knocked him off top spot at the final opportunity. Renault Junior, and championship leader, Oscar Piastri will start from third, ahead of his RSA team mate Max Fewtrell, on Saturday at 0925 (local time).
