F1 cars barrelling down the famous Las Vegas Strip, sparks flying and plenty of wheel to wheel racing greeted the fans on Saturday night, with Max Verstappen emerging victorious once again for Red Bull. But it wasn’t a straightforward weekend for him, or any of his colleagues, as the chatter on the airwaves showed…
FP1 was brought to a premature end when Carlos Sainz was forced to stop with car damage after running over the concrete surround for a water valve, and Alex Albon also had to stop out on track after hitting the wall in FP3, with both drivers sounding frustrated on the radio.
Come qualifying, Logan Sargeant was overjoyed with his career-best grid slot while Charles Leclerc sounded slightly surprised to be on pole. But there was nothing but pain for Lando Norris on race day – in more ways than one.
Verstappen had a message for the stewards after being handed a time penalty, something Leclerc was adamant he deserved. That wasn’t the only time the Dutchman took to the airwaves, as he expressed anger towards George Russell, but it was all smiles at the end as another victory was serenaded in style.
