Matt YousonWe’re still in the Middle East, still racing under lights, but it’s difficult to imagine two circuits more different than those in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The smooth, high-speed Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a track very different to the abrasive, tyre-chewing layout in Sakhir. So, can we expect a different sort of race – and what’s the fastest way to the flag?
What happened at this race last year?
Sergio Pérez won the Saudi Grand Prix last year, with Max Verstappen and George Russell joining him on the podium. As was the case in both previous editions, the 2023 event was a one-stop race, with those leaders, plus Fernando Alonso (P4), starting on a medium tyre and swapping for a hard.
