The Secret Life of… Lance Stroll

The rare achievement of a podium finish in his rookie season has brought Williams’ Lance Stroll to the attention of race fans worldwide, but how much do you really know about the young Canadian? It’s time to learn a little more…
Q: Apart from driving a Formula 1 car, what is your favourite buzz? Lance Stroll: A number of things: mountain biking, surfing and playing golf.
Q: Which film last made you cry? LS:* The Pianist, directed by Roman Polanski, about a piano player trying to survive the Warsaw Ghetto.*
Q: What are you afraid of? LS: The usual I would assume: snakes.

Q: What was the last book you read? LS: Rafa, the autobiography of Rafael Nadal. He is a cool guy.
Q: What did your teachers say about you in your school report? LS: That I was cheeky! (Laughs)
Q: Do you have any guilty pleasures? LS: No. I’ve got nothing to hide!
Q: Do you collect anything? LS: Trophies and championships.
Q: What do you miss most about home when you’re travelling? LS: Time with friends and family.
Q: What was your worst buy? LS: A bad pair of underwear.

Q: What’s your ideal non-race Sunday? LS: A lazy day on the couch with good company, watching an NFL game. I am a fan of the NY Giants!
Q: What’s the most embarrassing mistake you’ve ever made? LS: Can’t think of anything.
Q: When was the last time you were really angry? LS: I try to be chilled out most of the time.
Q: Which superpower would you prefer: being able to fly, or being able to become invisible? LS: Fly! Why should anyone want to be invisible? (Laughs)
Q: What do you sing in the shower? LS: I listen to music in the shower: soft-Pop. Drake sometimes!
Q: Do you believe in love at first sight? LS: No.
Q: What’s the worst thing about being famous? LS: The lack of privacy.

Q: What’s the strangest question you’ve ever been asked? LS: Pretty sure it’s one of these here! (Laughs)
Q: You can invite three people to dinner, living or dead. Who do you invite? LS: My best friends.
Q: Outside of F1, what brings you the greatest satisfaction? LS: Skiing in Alaska.
Q: What was the best thing about being a child? LS: No responsibility.
Q: What should everyone try once in their lifetime? LS: Visiting Montreal!
Q: If you could make a wish what would that be? LS: To stop time for just one day!
