WATCH: Latifi brings out red flags at Red Bull Ring after first crash of 2020 in FP3
Nichola Latifi brought out the red flags at the Red Bull Ring on Saturday after the Williams driver registered the first crash of the 2020 season.
The Canadian rookie was busy running through his programme in the third free practice session ahead of Saturday afternoon's qualifying session for the Austrian Grand Prix – his first race in F1 – when he hit the kerbs on the exit of Turn 1 and slammed into the barriers, ripping off his front wing in the process – as you can see in the video above.
The race director immediately threw the red flag to pause the session while the Williams FW43 car was recovered to the pit lane. After assessing the damage, Williams expect the Canadian's machine to be fine for qualifying, with the car needing new front and rear wings but no major work.
