WATCH: Leclerc wipes off his front wing on Baku barriers in practice shunt
Charles Leclerc got it all wrong in Free Practice 2 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, sliding his Ferrari SF21 straight into the barriers and ripping off the front wing of the car.
Leclerc is no stranger to Baku’s Tecpro barriers, with the crash reminiscent of his Q2 smash from two years ago, which saw Leclerc – who’d dominated the weekend up until that point – crash into the Turn 8 wall, missing out on a chance to claim pole.

Leclerc also secured pole position last time out after crashing into the Monaco barriers – although thankfully for Ferrari’s mechanics, this time Leclerc was able to recover to the pits for a simple nose change, before setting the session’s fourth fastest time, one place behind team mate Carlos Sainz as Ferrari showed impressive pace in Baku.
