WATCH: Raikkonen spins and then hits pit lane entry wall in scrappy FP1 at Spa
All the Grand Prix drivers have had a nice relaxing three weeks off over the summer, but it seems one or two might – understandably – have taken a lap or two to get back on top form as the season resumes in Belgium this weekend – not helped by the damp conditions in the Ardennes on Friday.
In first practice for the Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, several drivers had scrappy moments, including veteran racer Kimi Raikkonen who had a spin early on in the session at La Source – which you can see in the video below – and then also had hairy moment when he hit the wall while driving into the pit lane midway through the session, as you can see in the clip above.
Raikkonen did get back out to complete some more laps, and ended the session 17th quickest, four places behind his Alfa Romeo team mate Antonio Giovinazzi.
