Max Verstappen produced a brilliant performance to take his seventh pole position of the season on Saturday evening at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Verstappen produced two flying laps that would have both been good enough for pole, as he set a final time of 1m 23.824s to beat team mate Sergio Perez, in second, by 0.228s. Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three, finishing 0.268s off Verstappen’s time.
