They came; he conquered. The Dutch fans packed into the grandstands this weekend to watch their hero Max Verstappen race as Formula 1 returned to Zandvoort for the first time since 1985.
And he didn't let them down as he took a superb victory from pole position at the seaside track, fending off the challenge of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes to win – and retake the lead in the world championship in the process.
