Williams Driver Academy racer Logan Sargeant to make F2 debut in Saudi Arabia
Williams junior Logan Sargeant will make his Formula 2 debut with HWA RACELAB in Saudi Arabia, stepping up on the back of three seasons in Formula 3.
In 2021, Sargeant led Charouz Racing System to their highest ever points tally in F3, as well as their first victory at that level. Finishing seventh in the drivers’ standings, Sargeant took four podiums in total, including the Race 1 victory in Sochi.
He had been a title challenger with PREMA in the 2020 season, narrowly missing out on the championship to current F2 leader Oscar Piastri, finishing third overall with six podiums and two wins.
Announced as a member of the Williams Driver Academy in October, the American is also a race winner in Formula Renault Eurocup and British Formula 4.
He will join Italian Alessio Deledda at HWA, replacing Jake Hughes in Jeddah. The German team have yet to announce their line-up for the season finale at Abu Dhabi.
Jack Doohan will also contest the final two F2 rounds with MP Motorsport. The Australian finished second in this year's Formula 3 championship for Trident and will make the step up to F2 in Saudi Arabia.
