Aron set for next FP1 run with Alpine at Monza

Alpine have confirmed that reserve driver Paul Aron will participate in another Free Practice 1 outing for the squad at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

Aron has previously been in action during three practice sessions so far in 2026, with the first in Barcelona and Austria being with Audi as part of an agreement between the two teams.

The Estonian went on to drive for Alpine in Hungary and will again get behind the wheel of the A526 when Friday’s track running kicks off in Monza, sitting in for Pierre Gasly.

From there Aron will embark on a busy weekend, as he will head back to the team’s Enstone base for simulator work in the evening after his FP1 run in order to help with fine-tuning the car’s set-up.

“I am looking forward to driving again in Free Practice 1 with the team this weekend,” said Aron. “I am grateful to the team for giving me the opportunity to get back behind the wheel so soon.

“I was very pleased with my session in Budapest, and I hope to build on it this time around, particularly helping the team compare our latest upgrade package which I have driven in the simulator.

“It's going to be a busy weekend for me as I'll be on the simulator at Enstone on Friday night to further help the team fine tune the set-up before returning to the track on Saturday. I'll give it my all to hopefully assist the team in having a successful weekend.”

The weekend at Monza will also see both Gasly and Franco Colapinto run the upgrade package that was first introduced on Gasly’s car last time out in Zandvoort.
