This week will bring another series of tributes and celebrations around the life and career of the late, great Ayrton Senna, who passed away some 30 years ago. As one of several special pieces to be published on F1.com, and for our latest instalment of F1 Icons, Daniel Ricciardo tells us why the Brazilian was such an inspiration to him growing up…
I have a very photographic memory.
I still remember my parents standing at the end of my bed at home in Australia and being really sad. It was the morning that Senna died. They were like, ‘Do you want to see what’s on the news?’ I watched the story and I get goosebumps about it today.
