F1 to host celebrity charity golf tournament in Austin ahead of US Grand Prix
Formula 1® will set the fairway alight ahead of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix 2019 in Austin, Texas, with a star-studded celebrity charity golf tournament. ‘Grid to Green’, hosted in conjunction with GOLF Magazine, will unite the two iconic sports in a world-class golfing experience – all in support of the world’s leading breast cancer organisation, Susan G. Komen®.
The tournament, which will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 31st October at the Tom Fazio designed Omni Barton Creek Canyons Course, will feature a current or previous legend from the world of motorsport in each group.
The following leading figures will all tee off at the event with many more top names to be announced in the coming weeks:
- McLaren F1 Team driver Carlos Sainz Jr
- Formula 1 Team Principals Christian Horner (Aston Martin Red Bull Racing), Zak Brown (McLaren
- F1) and Otmar Szafnauer (SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team)
- 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill
- Formula 1 Managing Director, Motorsports, Ross Brawn
- 1985 Indianapolis 500 winner and former Tyrrell F1 driver Danny Sullivan
As well as taking part in the on-course action, guests will be able to join a range of not to be missed golfing experiences – from masterclasses and demonstrations, to competitions and PGA Tour Pro appearances.
