F2: Beganovic flies in Madrid to take second pole of 2026

Dino Beganovic would not be denied top spot in Qualifying around the Madring, earning his second pole position of the 2026 campaign.

The DAMS Lucas Oil and Ferrari Driver Academy talent recorded a 1:44.331 to wind up two-tenths clear of the chasing pack.

Rodin Motorsport’s Alexander Dunne got closest to the Swede, finishing P2 ahead of Championship contender Rafael Camara, who ended the day third for Invicta Racing.

Beganovic and Dunne traded top spot back and forth throughout the Madrid Qualifying session, with the DAMS emerging in the latter stages as the quicker force.

After three red flag stoppages, Beganovic found one last improvement in the final minutes to lower his personal best and provisional pole time. Dunne responded moments later, but couldn’t improve to depose the DAMS driver from P1.

Camara’s session was compromised by the earlier red flags, and he was down in 14th place ahead of his final attempt.

The Brazilian was able to deliver a lap good enough for third under pressure to improve his odds of closing the gap to Championship leader Nikola Tsolov, who finished the session fifth.

Martinius Stenshorne was fourth, while Beganovic’s DAMS teammate Roman Bilinski finished sixth on a strong day for the French squad.

Laurens van Hoepen was seventh, with Noel Leon, Ritomo Miyata and Emerson Fittipaldi completing the top 10.
