F2: Duerksen holds off Stenshorne to win Spa F2 Sprint Race

Joshua Duerksen achieved his second victory of the F2 season by winning the Spa-Francorchamps Sprint Race.

Starting in fourth place, the Invicta Racing driver made a strong start and was up to third at the end of the opening lap.

Duerksen then overtook Sebastian Montoya to get up to second and halfway through the race, he used the DRS to get past Martinius Stenshorne for the lead down the Kemmel Straight.

The Paraguayan then had to hold off his Rodin Motorsport rival’s challenge, especially on the final lap Safety Car restart, before winning the race.

Stenshorne settled for second ahead of Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member Dino Beganovic, who finished third for DAMS Lucas Oil.

Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov had another strong result in fourth place, finishing ahead of title rivals Alexander Dunne and Rafael Camara.

Roman Bilinski made it two DAMS cars in the points by finishing seventh, ahead of MP Motorsport driver Oliver Goethe.

Next up is the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps where Camara is set to start from pole ahead of Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Dunne.
