Joshua Duerksen picked up from where he left off in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Feature Race to make it two consecutive victories in Formula 2, as the AIX Racing man came out on top in Saturday’s Melbourne Sprint Race.
The Paraguayan driver made a fast start from second on the grid, immediately getting ahead of polesitter Leonardo Fornaroli, to take the lead.

From then on, Duerksen managed the pace, and two Safety Car restarts, to cross the line in first, giving him the first win of the season.
Invicta Racing rookie Fornaroli settled for second on his debut, holding off Hitech TGR’s Luke Browning in a race-long battle, with the Williams Driver Academy member taking the final spot on the podium in P3.
MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor finished in fourth ahead of Roman Stanek, who made it two Invicta cars in the top five – a good start to the season for the reigning Teams’ Champions.
PREMA Racing duo Sebastián Montoya and Gabriele Minì followed in sixth and seventh respectively, while Campos Racing’s Josep María Martí took the last point in P8.
