F2: Hadjar takes pole at Silverstone after spin for Championship leader Aron
Campos Racing’s Isack Hadjar secured his first pole position of the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season with a late lap in Silverstone Qualifying.
Fresh from his FP1 efforts with Red Bull Racing earlier in the day, the Frenchman took the top spot on a 1:39.368 in what looks to be a particularly important pole following a spin for title rival Paul Aron.

The Hitech Pulse-Eight driver had been in contention for P1 having held the provisional pole time himself earlier in the session.
But a spin at Turn 1 on his second run left his fresh soft tyres heavily flat-spotted, ruling him out of the running for pole position and opening the door to second in the Championship Hadjar.
ART Grand Prix and Alpine Academy driver Victor Martins secured P2 on the grid with another late laptime, narrowly ahead of MP Motorsport’s Dennis Hauger, who earned his second consecutive top three start.
Teammate Franco Colapinto capped off a good day for the team and himself with fourth on the grid, as home favourite and Haas-bound Oliver Bearman was fifth for PREMA Racing.

Invicta Racing teammates Gabriel Bortoleto and Kush Maini were split by Jak Crawford in the DAMS Lucas Oil car – sixth, seventh and eighth respectively. Rodin Motorsport’s Zane Maloney put in a late effort to improve to P9, while PREMA’s Andrea Kimi Antonelli rounded out the top 10 and will start Saturday’s Sprint Race from reverse grid pole.
