• After his win for McLaren, Oscar Piastri is the first Australian to lead the World Championship since Mark Webber following the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix.

• Piastri has been fourth, third, second and first in the Drivers’ Championship after the last four races.

REPORT: Piastri clinches victory in Saudi Arabia from Verstappen and Leclerc as McLaren driver becomes new championship leader

• Piastri is the first driver to win from below pole position this season.

• McLaren had never previously finished on the podium in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

• McLaren have now scored podium finishes in Jeddah in Formula 1, Formula E and F1 ACADEMY this year.

• Max Verstappen, second for Red Bull, has never finished lower than second in Saudi Arabia.

• Red Bull were beaten in Saudi Arabia for the first time since 2021.

• Charles Leclerc’s P3 is Ferrari’s first Grand Prix podium finish in 2025.

• Leclerc has finished third in consecutive Saudi Arabian Grands Prix.

• In P4, Lando Norris finished off the podium for the first time this season in the McLaren.

• It was nevertheless Norris’ first career top-six finish in Jeddah.

• Mercedes’ George Russell took P5 and has finished in the top-five at every Grand Prix this year.

• Team mate Kimi Antonelli secured P6, meaning both Mercedes finished in the top six for the fourth time in five Grands Prix this season.

• Lewis Hamilton finished seventh for Ferrari, who have never had a car finish outside the top eight in Saudi Arabian Grand Prix history.

DRIVER OF THE DAY: Verstappen gets your vote after taking Red Bull to P2 in Jeddah

• Carlos Sainz took P8, his highest finish since joining the Williams team.

• Team mate Alex Albon was ninth, meaning Williams scored with both cars for the second time this season.

• Albon has scored points in four of the first five Grands Prix in 2025.

• It was his first-ever points finish in Saudi Arabia.

• Williams move up to fifth in the Constructors’ Championship.

• With P10, Isack Hadjar scored Racing Bulls’ first point in Jeddah since 2022.

• Hadjar scored for the second time in the last three Grands Prix.

• With P11 for Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso tied his best finish of the season.

• Liam Lawson did the same with P12 for Racing Bulls.

• With Oliver Bearman P13 and Esteban Ocon P14, Haas failed to score for the first time since the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

• As a result, Haas drop behind Williams into sixth in the Constructors’ Championship.
