MIAMI, FLORIDA - MAY 04: Race winner Oscar Piastri of Australia and McLaren celebrates on arrival

Oscar Piastri came away from the Miami Grand Prix weekend with the biggest points haul – as well as adding some interesting data to the history books. But he wasn’t the only one – here’s our round up of the need-to-know numbers from an enthralling race in the United States…

• Piastri is the first McLaren driver to win three consecutive Grands Prix since Mika Hakkinen (with his first three career wins at Spain 1997, Australia and Brazil 1998).

• It is Piastri’s sixth career victory, and his fourth Grand Prix win this season.

REPORT: Piastri wins from Norris and Russell as McLaren seal commanding 1-2 in Miami Grand Prix

• Piastri’s victory means McLaren have won back-to-back Miami Grands Prix.

• The Miami Grand Prix maintains its record of never being won from the front row (Piastri started P4).

• This is Piastri’s 32nd consecutive point-scoring weekend, the fourth-longest streak in F1 history.

• With Lando Norris finishing second, McLaren become the first team to finish one-two in a Sprint and a Grand Prix on the same weekend.

• It’s only the fourth time McLaren have finished 1-2 in a Grand Prix in the last 15 years.

• The last time McLaren finished 1-2 with everybody else over 30 seconds behind was Monaco 2007, when Fernando Alonso won ahead of team mate Lewis Hamilton, with Felipe Massa 1m 09s behind the winner in third).

• Verstappen has finished off the podium three times in the opening six Grands Prix in 2025.

• With P5, Alex Albon matched his result from the season-opening Australian Gr, his only previous top-six finish since joining Williams at the start of 2022.

MIAMI, FLORIDA - MAY 04: Oliver Bearman of Great Britain and Haas F1 in the Pitlane during the F1

A new experience for Oliver Bearman - failing to finish a Grand Prix

• Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda was tenth, meaning he scored in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix this weekend.

• Tsunoda finished just 0.168s ahead of Isack Hadjar after taking a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

• Only five teams scored points, the minimum possible number (McLaren, Red Bull, Mercedes, Williams, Ferrari).

• Oliver Bearman’s DNF in the Haas was his first-ever failure to finish a Grand Prix (in his ninth F1 start).

• Jack Doohan’s DNF at Alpine was the second time he has retired on the opening lap this season (also Australia).
