It’s the move the Formula 1 world has been anticipating for almost a year – Lewis Hamilton has officially made his switch to Ferrari as of New Year’s Day, which brings an end to a 12-year stint at Mercedes.
Ferrari have been trying to land Hamilton’s prized signature for years. Their chairman John Elkann has become friends with the seven-time world champion, in part through his relentless chase of a driver who has won a record 105 Grands Prix.
