Formula 1 supporting BBC Children in Need with F1 23 tournament
Formula 1 is supporting BBC Children in Need with an F1 23 sim racing tournament – offering competitors the chance to appear in a live television show later this year as part of the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
Competitors (16+) will need to set their fastest qualifying lap time around Silverstone on the F1 23 videogame, developed by EA SPORTS, at special fundraising events across the UK. The 50 fastest drivers will be entered into a ballot, with two competitors then selected at random and invited to race in a live show on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in November, ahead of the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
BBC Children in Need, a charity supported by Formula 1, kicked off the tournament in Silverstone at the British Grand Prix alongside a range of other fundraising activations, as the sport continues its work with charities to leave a legacy of positive change.
The tournament continues this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will then appear at other events, including CarFest in the UK (August 25-27). Members of local communities will be invited to get involved and join BBC talent as the tournament visits other sites across the UK in the autumn.
BBC Children in Need has been passionate about making a real difference to young lives across the UK since its first television appeal in 1980, and participants in the challenge are encouraged to donate generously, with all proceeds going to support local charities and projects across the UK.
