Haryanto to stay in F1 as Manor reserve
Rio Haryanto will continue to be a part of Formula One racing in 2016 after accepting Manor's offer of a reserve driver role.
The Indonesian rookie lost his race seat this week due to budgetary issues, with the team confirming Frenchman Esteban Ocon will compete for the remainder of the season.
However, Manor offered Haryanto - who has a best finish of 15th from the opening 12 races - a reserve position to ensure he remains involved with the team for the rest of the year.
As a result Haryanto will be available to deputise should either Ocon or Pascal Wehrlein be unable to take part in an event. He will also be immersed in engineering meetings and PR activities, with Manor saying they will continue support "for his racing ambitions".
