FP3: Russell leads Piastri and Sainz in final Las Vegas GP practice
There was a late flurry of action after teams appeared reluctant to head out on track during the early chunk of the session – Red Bull set the initial laps as they tested their long run pace.
After struggling on the medium tyres, Max Verstappen ended the session in P5 just behind Lando Norris, as the second Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton slotted into P6.
The lower end of the top 10 saw both Williams cars, Kevin Magnussen and Pierre Gasly demonstrate some impressive pace as the midfield battle heats up once again around the dazzling street circuit.
In the dying minutes, Lance Stroll's Aston Martin lost all power, forcing him to pull over to the side of the track and jump out as his car started smoking – the session was halted to recover his car, sending everyone back to the pits.
