Oscar Piastri claimed a spectacular pole position for the Sprint at Interlagos with his final attempt of the session, beating team mate Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc to the top spot.
The threat of rain loomed throughout Sprint Qualifying but failed to materialise, leaving the constantly evolving track surface in overcast conditions as the biggest challenge for the drivers to tackle.

Norris looked set to claim pole position as he maintained a significant gap over his rivals at every stage, but Piastri’s second lap in SQ3 saw him narrowly pip him to it with a lap time of 1m 08.899s.
The shock of the session was Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez taking an early exit in SQ2, with crowd favourite Franco Colapinto getting knocked out alongside them.
Behind the McLaren pole sitter, it was a mixed-up top 10, with Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson, Alex Albon and Haas reserve driver Ollie Bearman all set to start the Sprint from the front half of the grid.
